📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
This adds a Global South perspective to CBAM scholarship, showing how an emerging economy builds domestic carbon-pricing and MRV capacity in response to EU border rules. It complements TCFD/ISSB disclosure debates by linking embedded-emissions traceability to credit conditions and supply-chain compliance.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This article examines how carbon pricing is reshaping the costs, competitiveness and access to finance of Brazilian industry. It focuses on the interaction between the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Brazil’s Emissions Trading System (SBCE), highlighting the growing importance of embedded emissions, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV), traceability and certification for market access. The analysis discusses the early impacts on iron, steel and aluminium, the potential competitive advantage created by Brazil’s renewable electricity mix and low-emission industrial pathways, and the role of the SBCE in building domestic carbon-pricing and MRV capacity. It also considers how transition risks affect credit conditions, how compliance costs may cascade through supply chains, including SMEs, and how decarbonisation can create opportunities for higher-value low-carbon products, climate finance and a sustainable circular bioeconomy.
