📄 Abstract（原文）

There has been an increase in demand for market-based instruments like the use of carbon credits which allows organizations to trade emissions reductions. As such, India launched the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) on 28 June 2023, as part of a commitment to a lower carbon future. This article represents a systematic analysis of the challenges to implementing the CCTS in India and identifies opportunities. This systematic review was based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. Data collection took place using the Scopus search engine. Initially, 151 studies were collected, however, only 18 met the screening and selection criteria for further evaluation. These studies found several problems exist with the implementation of the CCTS. Some of the main problems include regulatory uncertainty, inadequate market structure, errors in Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), and unpreparedness of industry. While there are problems with the implementation of the CCTS, it does provide many opportunities. There is potential for the promotion of carbon finance, technology development, participation of the private sector, and connectivity with international carbon markets. Overall, the authors suggest stronger policies and institutional support would be needed to successfully implement the CCTS in India.
