English

This study integrates Peltier modules into a PV dual-axis tracking system as a self-powered cooling solution. A 170W experimental rig achieved ~57% higher power output than a fixed PV system (24% from the Peltier effect) and reduced panel temperature by 13°C. The hybrid system shows promise for renewable energy in high-ambient-temperature regions.

📄 Abstract(原文)

Abstract: In this paper, Peltier modules are integrated into a Photovoltaic (PV) dual-axis tracking system as an innovative cooling solution to increase the output of the PV system without using an external power source. The effectiveness of Peltier devices in enhancing the performance of solar panels under various conditions was studied. An experimental full-scale rig with power rating 170W, PV-dual axis tracker having attached by Peltier modules was designed and implemented. The system was evaluated under controlled conditions, and the solar irradiance, temperature, and energy output were measured for different scenarios. Real time monitoring and analysis of system performance were achieved using sensors and data loggers, under different temperature and solar incidence scenarios. This hybrid integration of Peltier modules with the D-axis tracking system led to a substantial increase in the generation of PV-power, around 57%, which involved the 24% Peltier effect, compared to a Fixed-Reference PV-system. The Peltier device cooling effect resulted in significant drop in the solar panel average operating temperature by -13 oC less than D-axis, contributing to PV-output power enhancement with bulk efficiency 13% and FF 77.6% of the hybrid system. The results indicated that the temperature difference created by the Peltier modules played a crucial role in enhancing the overall    performance of the system. The results have significant advantages for renewable energy applications, especially in areas with high ambient temperatures.
