English
Noting that under 20% of studies operate at microscale and none integrate all functional layers, this paper proposes a five-layer digital-twin framework: data acquisition, assimilation, microclimate simulation, nature-based-solution optimisation, and participatory visualisation. It offers design guidelines balancing thermal cooling (up to 5.0 °C) against the risk that dense canopies trap particulate matter in street canyons. The framework is a theoretical foundation for future implementation in intermediate Latin American cities.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
While not a disclosure paper, it speaks to the adaptation and physical-climate-risk side of TCFD/ISSB, where urban heat and air quality increasingly feature in transition and resilience planning. It adds a Global South, microscale perspective largely absent from the predominantly Global North digital-twin literature.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This article evaluates the deployment of digital twins and nature-based solutions to mitigate microclimate extreme heat and air pollution at the street level. Highlighting that less than 20% of existing studies operate at the microscale and none fully integrate all required functional layers, the work proposes a five-layer conceptual framework encompassing data acquisition, data assimilation, microclimate simulation, nature-based solution optimisation, and participatory visualisation. It outlines actionable design guidelines to balance the trade-offs between thermal cooling which can reach up to 5.0 °C depending on the green infrastructure and ventilation, ensuring dense tree canopies do not inadvertently trap particulate matter within urban street canyons. Ultimately, the framework serves as a theoretical foundation intended for future implementation and empirical validation in intermediate Latin American cities
