English
This study econometrically examines long-run effects of tourism, nuclear energy, financial markets, growth, renewable transition, and urbanization on ecological footprint and load capacity factor in nuclear-dependent countries. Tourism, nuclear, finance, renewables, and urbanization worsen ecological footprint and reduce load capacity, while growth and urbanization show opposite effects. It calls for an integrated policy framework combining renewables, sustainable tourism, and smart urban planning.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
日本のGX文脈において
日本は原子力と再エネのバランスを模索しており、GX推進法や第7次エネルギー基本計画の議論に、原子力依存国の実証的知見として参考になる。観光と脱炭素の両立は地域GXの論点とも接続する。
In the global GX context
As global disclosure frameworks (TCFD/ISSB) increasingly demand transition plans, this study offers empirical evidence on how nuclear and renewable energy transitions interact with tourism and economic drivers in nuclear-dependent economies, informing decarbonization policy design beyond carbon accounting.

📄 Abstract(原文)
ABSTRACT In light of exacerbating climate change issues, recent environmental policy reforms have attempted to balance economic growth and environmental conservation to foster a sustainable development transition. To further debate the scope of decarbonization policies, this study investigates the long‐run effects of tourism, nuclear energy, financial markets, economic growth, renewable energy transition, and urbanization on ecological footprint and load capacity factor in nuclear‐energy‐dependent countries. This research relies on extended econometric analysis to reveal that tourism, nuclear power, financial markets, renewable energy transition, and urbanization considerably lower economic growth but exacerbate ecological footprints. We also reveal that tourism, nuclear energy, financial markets, and renewable energy transition have a detrimental impact on the load capacity factor, whereas the opposite is true for economic growth and urbanization. The empirical findings allow us to determine that an integrated policy framework involving renewable energy, a sustainable economic and tourism agenda, and smart urban planning is essential for long‐term environmental sustainability.
