📄 Abstract(原文)
Abstract Field E is a mature dual-reservoir carbonate system that suffered from decades of depletion, pressure decline, and inefficient sweep. The objective of this study is to formulate a full-field redevelopment strategy using cold Gas-Oil Gravity Drainage (cGOGD) to unlock remaining oil potential through a low-energy, low-carbon mechanism. The redevelopment aims to stabilize reservoir pressure, increase recovery, and extend field life while minimizing new surface footprint. The evaluation integrated detailed geological characterization, dual-reservoir dynamic simulation, fracture modelling, and uncertainty analysis. Vertical communication, fracture-aided transmissibility, and density-driven flow behaviour were assessed to determine GOGD suitability. Multiple development scenarios were tested, ranging from limited injector conversion to a full cGOGD pattern supported by ~33 producers and ~4 dedicated gas injectors. Sensitivities on fracture spacing, contact position, and relative permeability behaviour were conducted to quantify long-term drainage performance and gravity segregation efficiency. Zero-flaring design were incorporated to reduce cost and emissions. Modelling confirmed that cGOGD provides a stable, long-term recovery mechanism for both stacked reservoirs by maintaining a consistent gas-oil contact movement and minimizing water production. The selected redevelopment concept delivers a significant uplift in field recovery, reaching approximately 17-18% per reservoir, representing a major improvement over historic performance. The gravity-dominated mechanism proved robust to most subsurface uncertainties, with fracture spacing and fluid contacts emerging as the primary drivers of plateau length and recovery. The strategy requires new surface facilities and achieves a low overall carbon footprint while providing strong economic performance without reliance on energy-intensive water injection. This redevelopment demonstrates the successful application of cGOGD in a dual-reservoir carbonate with mixed fracture behaviour, showing that gravity-driven recovery can outperform conventional options when subsurface architecture supports vertical drainage. The Field E workflow establishes a scalable template for revitalizing other mature, low-pressure carbonate fields across the region where low-carbon, high-recovery solutions are increasingly required.
