📄 Abstract(原文)
Abstract Flooded forests surrounding the Tonlé Sap Basin in Cambodia play a crucial role in maintaining ecological stability, biodiversity, and carbon storage within the Mekong River system. These seasonally inundated forests store significant amounts of carbon in both biomass and soil, contributing to climate change mitigation. However, deforestation, land conversion, and hydrological changes have reduced the extent of flooded forests in the Tonlé Sap floodplain. This review synthesizes existing scientific literature on carbon stock assessment methods, carbon storage potential, and the environmental drivers affecting carbon dynamics in flooded forests. The findings highlight that Tonlé Sap flooded forests represent important carbon reservoirs, but their degradation may lead to significant greenhouse gas emissions. Improved monitoring, sustainable forest management, and restoration programs are essential for maintaining carbon stocks and supporting climate mitigation efforts in Cambodia. Keywords: Tonlé Sap Basin; Flooded forests; Carbon stock; Carbon sequestration; Climate change mitigation; Wetland ecosystems; Cambodia.
